Above shown is the new irrigation system control panel, it controls 4 pumps that feeds water to the golf grass patches. This system is critical to the health of the grass patches, hence we upgraded it.

In the previous design, the control is done by using a pump control card in VSD no. 1, when the required pressure is not reached, the VSD no.1 will give command to the other 3 VSDs to start. Such a design would cause a worry that if VSD no. 1 is down, or the pump control card malfunction. The system will cease to operate in auto mode.

Hence our new design uses a smart relay to control the VSD instead. This allows us to have various contingency plan if any fault occurs in one of the VSD. Furthermore, we added other important monitoring device such as a temperature meter in the control panel. If the temperature in the control panel is too hot, the smart relay would stop the VSDs.
